ok, someone explain to me the concept of "friends only" journals? I do not understand the concept of making it "friends only" when most people are willing to add you the minute you ask - hardly a friend then am i? I wonder why do it then?

is there some reason that has yet been untold to the greater community - or is it that people like me who have a web based journal think it is kind of an oxymoron to have a web based journal that is closed to people unless they ask to be added on? I am confused and it shites me up the wall to be honest...

i have only recently started venturing into the LJ world to add more Melb people in the hopes of one day maybe building a friendship out of it and it is very time consuming to be searching through profiles etc only to get to their journal only to find it locked...maybe i won't like you as a "friend" so i dont' want to read your journal anyway you self important bugger grrr..look at me getting so irrate -

i know i have a few "friends" listed who have "friends only" journals - can you please share with me why? you went down that path? is there a greater mystery to it? are you hiding things behind all that html code that we should know about? or maybe i am just one of the lucky ones who hasn't copped exlovers spamming me and making my life hell???

Thoughts anyone - sorry if i have offended!!! wasn't my intention!!

hugs and kisses
